This full-day event includes:
Morning session (10 am-12:30 pm):
- Mini lectures and instructions
- Shooting on set, Part I

In this limited attendance creative workshop (maximum 5 participants), you will spend a day learning and working along side industry experts, including Lauren Kaufmann (of Kaufmann Photography and The Studio), wardrobe stylists, professional models, and hair and make-up artists. You’ll receive personalized instructions on the latest photographic techniques and get valuable one-on-one time with our experts. You’ll then have the chance to apply your lessons learned by capturing a range of beautiful images in our unique studio space.
Day 1: Master the Art of Studio Lighting & Composition
Dive deep into lighting techniques, posing strategies, and composition rules that will help you capture stunning, professional portraits. We’ll focus on natural light, artificial lighting, and everything in between, giving you the tools to shoot in any environment.
Real-Time Practice: Work hands-on with our models to refine your skills and build your confidence behind the camera.
Day 2: Perfect Your Business Workflow and Client Processes
Learn how to create the ideal portrait experience for your clients—from understanding their needs to crafting their vision in front of the camera. We’ll also focus on editing, retouching, and developing a post-processing workflow that will set your work apart.

Hi, I’m Lauren—a portrait photographer and mentor with 16 years of experience and a deep love for all things studio.
I’ve built and run three successful studio spaces, earned accreditation through The Portrait Masters, and helped dozens of photographers refine their craft, grow their confidence, and scale their pricing with intention (my own average sales went from $250 to $2400).
At the workshop, I’ll be guiding you through lighting, posing, styling, and business strategies that actually work. You’ll also get to collaborate with my trusted team of stylists, makeup artists, and creative partners to build a strong, portfolio-worthy body of work—all in a supportive, hands-on environment designed to help you thrive.
